Surah Nuh (the Prophet Noah)

Bismillāhir Rahmānir Rahīm. The call of Prophet Noah (pbuh) 1.  Lo! We sent Noah unto his people (saying): Warn thy people ere the painful doom come unto them. 2.  He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 3.  (Bidding you): Serve Allah and keep your duty unto Him and obey me, 4.  That He may forgive you somewhat of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Lo! the term of Allah, when it cometh, cannot be delayed, if ye but knew. Noah's prayer 5.  He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 6.  But all my calling doth but add to their repugnance; 7.  And lo! whenever I call unto them that Thou mayst pardon them they thrust their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their garments and persist (in their refusal) and magnify themselves in pride. 8.  And lo! Surah Al-Mulk (the Dominion)

Bismillāhir Rahmānir Rahīm. The Glory of Allah 1.  Blessed is He in Whose hand is the Sovereignty, and, He is Able to do all things. 2.  Who hath created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 3.  Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts ? 4.  Then look again and yet again, thy sight will return unto thee weakened and made dim. 5.  And verily We have beautified the world's heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for the devils, and for them We have prepared the doom of flame. The disbelivers' end 6.  And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there is the doom of hell, a hapless journey's end! 7.  When they are flung therein they hear its roaring as it boileth up, 8.  As it would burst with rage. Whenever a (fresh) host is flung therein the wardens thereof ask them: Cam

The Translation Used

The translation of English Quran used here is the one by Muhammad Pickthall. He is an English mualaf who translated Quran and understood its context as an interpretation. This translation is found as quiet poetic and easy to read. It is also quiet easy to understand by general readers in my humble opinion. The other prominent thing is the use of singular second person pronouns that is not used in modern English nowadays. It is hoped that the reader may get the bemefits of this version and may read Quran in more literary way.

About Quran Project

Quran Project is a project in which Quran is given subheading to aid the reader in searching through verses and understanding the topic inside a Surah. If possible, it shouldbe added with parallel verse as in Ibn Kathir's commentary. But this one is not the main checkpoint. It is hoped that the reader may be benefitted by this project and then could get to understand and read the word of our Lord Allah better. If possible, there should be daily readings and pericopes to aid in reading Quran daily in devotional manner and accordiny to feasts and fasts in Islam. Best regards, An unworthy servant of Allah
